1st August 2018

Well August has rolled around again which means it’s time for my annual post (I did make a New Year’s resolution to post more often but maybe that’s a 2019 thing). Anyway, I’m happy to share our 4-year anniversary with a quick update on what has happened during the last year.

Whilst it’s always nice to have growth (we almost doubled our revenue and staff again last year) it’s also nice to still have our foundation clients and staff alongside us on this journey. Our Omni Recruit team has grown to 14 which includes 5 in our Permanent Recruitment team and with the addition of another couple of males we’ve even gone over the 25% testosterone representation mark. Another great stat is that 7 out of the 9 females in our team are mums who juggle work, life and kids and 6 of them all work a variation of a part time week, from 2 days to 4 days, to 9 day fortnights and the ability to take their laptop and work from home. Having this flexibility has allowed us to gradually bring back our consultants and account managers from maternity leave at their own pace so that we never lose our key people. This is not to say that the Dad’s in our team don’t also have that flexibility to work from home or remotely when needed (I just find it much quieter in the office especially during school holidays). Last year saw another Omni baby born and rumour is there’s another one on the way (ssshhhhhhhh).

One of our biggest achievements this year was helping our major client transition into a new warehouse while still operating their old site. We helped recruit some of the original permanent team members and the DC Manager in late 2017 and then between February and June this year we have recruited, rostered, managed and pay rolled almost 170 casual staff across a 24/7 operation. I can’t praise enough my Temp Team for helping bring this together and, in particular, Natalia as the Account Manager handling those rostering changes and sick calls at all hours. The rest of the team have also done a fantastic job with all our clients delivering exceptional service and in particular, I wanted to thank Lindsay, Kahla, Renee and Nicola for another outstanding year.

Of course, the payroll and admin team keep our casual staff paid and our clients invoiced, so special thanks to Steph (aka Magic / The Queen) in payroll who has recently been joined by Victoria and Tenai in Admin.

Our Perm Team led by Mark has grown from 1 (himself) to 5 in the past year as we welcomed on board Nick, Lisa, Warwick and converted Nicola from the Temp Team over to the Dark Side. It now gives us a great ability to recruit across many different sectors and they have made some great placements with clients across Australia. We’re hoping the perm team continues to grow and deliver great results with some key clients winning major projects.

I also want to thank our behind the scenes external support team of Ib (IT & Systems), Robyn/Mum (Accounts) and Mark (Sharman Rose Accountants). A special thanks to Peter, Gary, Brett and Veronica for being there when I needed you most!

Thanks everyone

Darren
